Biography
Jim Webb is a trial lawyer whose practice involves the gamut of business-related litigation, including products liability, mass tort (including asbestos defense), labor and employment, insurance, real estate, oil and gas, and other commercial controversies.
Jim joined McAfee & Taft in 1995 after practicing several years with a firm in Denver. In addition to his law practice, Jim serves as co-chair of the firm's Recruiting Committee and member of the firm's Associate Committee. His responsibilities in those roles include helping coordinate the firm's recruiting activities (both law school and lateral candidates) and helping new lawyers assimilate into the vibrant life of the firm.
Jim is actively involved in the Oklahoma City legal and business community, serving as general counsel and/or board member for various non-profit agencies over the years. Jim and his wife have five boys, so much of his time is spent in and around little league sports, where he has coached soccer for more than 20 years. Jim also contributes a substantial amount of time providing pro bono legal services on all types of matters, particularly to persons with serious mental and/or physical disabilities. Jim's commitment to giving back to our community recently garnered him the Oklahoma County Bar Association Community Service Award.
In 2008, Jim was recognized for his professional and civic contributions to the state by being named to the Journal Record's list of Leadership in Law honorees.
