Lincoln C. McElroy

Biography

Lincoln McElroy is a trial lawyer whose state and federal litigation practice is primarily concentrated in the areas of commercial litigation, oil and gas litigation, and the representation of management in employment-related disputes involving discrimination, wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, employment contracts and unemployment claims. He also has experience handling cases involving directors’ and officers’ liability, insurance disputes, securities claims, and white collar crimes.

Lincoln is a 2004 honors graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he was named to the Order of the Coif, served as assistant articles editor of Oklahoma Law Review, and was the recipient of the Nathalie Pierpont Comfort Scholarship and American Jurisprudence Awards in Civil Procedure I and Tribal Courts.

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft and relocating to Tulsa, he worked as a litigation associate with an Oklahoma City-based civil practice law firm.

  • Representation of public energy company in lawsuit against former employee to enforce employment agreement and covenant not to compete resulting in injunction 
  • Representation of large public company engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of pharmaceuticals in an employment discrimination lawsuit resulting in summary judgment in favor of employer
  • Served as lead trial counsel in jury trial involving insurance dispute 
  • Representation of energy companies in various oil and gas litigation
  • Representation of health club chain in various matters including successful resolution of commercial disputes and employment discrimination action
  • Representation of beverage bottler in various negligence actions, including obtaining summary judgment in favor of bottler in premises liability action
  • Representation of judgment creditor in enforcement proceedings including favorable appellate decision
  • Representation of landlords in lease disputes
  • Representation of businesses in employment related disputes and advising employers as to lawful employment practices including preparation and revision of employee handbooks and employment contracts
  • Representation of businesses and individuals in commercial litigation
