Biography
Neal Kennedy represents corporate and individual clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and is registered as a Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Neal has served as an adjunct professor of law at Oklahoma City University and as an instructor in the Legal Assistant Education Program at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He has lectured on intellectual property matters for continuing legal education programs and civic groups, been a guest lecturer at the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering, and authored “A Look at Computer Crime – Oklahoma and Federal Law” for the Oklahoma Bar Journal.
In addition to being listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Neal is a registered professional engineer and the co-inventor of three U.S. patents.
Prior to starting his law career, Neal worked as the chief engineer of an Oklahoma-based manufacturer of compressors, pumps and accessories for industrial gases and liquids.

Representative Experience
- Representation of clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including a large well service company, engineering consulting firm, manufacturers of compressors, pumps, surface blasting and grinding equipment and other inventions.
- Representation of clients in patent application appeals to the Board of Patent Appeals and interferences in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Advised client on a claim for infringement of its patent on an industrial equipment design that resulted in a patent infringement case with a jury verdict finding patent validity and a damage award and judgment for the client in the amount of $1,583,202. Judgment affirmed on appeal to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
