Mary Ellen Ternes Named to List of World's Pre-eminent Environmental Lawyers | |

OK - December 13, 2007Mary Ellen Ternes, an attorney with the law firm of McAfee & Taft, has been named to The International Who’s Who of Environmental Lawyers 2007 (3rd Edition). Ternes is one of two attorneys in the state, and one of only 370 attorneys worldwide, to be named to the highly selective list of pre-eminent environmental lawyers.
Ternes has also been recently appointed Ethics Chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy & Resources (SEER) and Vice Chair for the SEER Sustainable Development, Ecosystems and Climate Change Committee.
In her law practice, Ternes represents and counsels clients regarding sophisticated federal and state environmental issues and complex regulatory, enforcement, transactional and litigation matters. She is also a frequent speaker and author on environmental topics, particularly air and hazardous waste law, regulation, permitting and enforcement. In addition to holding numerous leadership positions with the American Bar Association, she serves as the Technical Section Chair for Legislation and Regulation, Environmental Division, for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
